Crinum calamistratum
Origin: West Africa, particularly Cameroon and South-Eastern Nigeria.
Characteristics: Has narrow, wavy edged leaves which taper at the top...reminds
you of an Octupus. Leaves are a beautiful dark green color. Bulbs are smaller than those of most other Crinums.
It comes from semi-brackish environs therefore it can be used in brackish water tanks.
Temperature: 20-30 degs C.
Lighting: Strong.
Planting and Propagation: Bulbs must be buried only half way into the gravel otherwise they will fail to grow and gradually rot away. Properly established plants develop younger plants in form of bulblets off the main bulb.
